Each month, Belouga’s Global Student Council, a group of students from around the world, write blog posts covering a range of topics related to global education. It is a great way to receive feedback and give voice to the Belouga experience from a student’s point of view. We will be sharing these posts and hope you feel inspired to join in with questions and conversation!
Global Learning: Let’s Go Global!
by Ludmila, age 16, Argentina
For starters, what is global learning? Global learning is about learning beyond the borders, while this could mean around the world, it could also mean your comfort zone. To observe the similarities and differences we have with people around the world.
Belouga has been able to change my ways of seeing the different ways we can help people. Economic resources limit our chances of learning in many ways, and education should be as accessible in places with poor economic resources just as first world countries. This is why I think Belouga is so important because it’s been able to help beyond the limits.
Before my teacher introduced my class to Belouga the only global learning I was doing without even realizing was face timing my friends who speak English. You might wonder how is that learning? But it is indeed; I learn new words, new ways of speaking and also new perspectives. Now, this is also what Belouga has been teaching me along the way.
But, besides learning about cultures and people I’ve connected with for the past months I’ve learned about myself. I’ve learned how amusing I find meeting new people, no matter how many miles there is between us and now I’m way more thankful for the education my parents could give me.
